Two different ideas of speed
PhoneBurner's design is one line, no delay. When a lead answers, the rep is already connected, with none of the half-second silence that tips people off to an autodialer. The dialer never calls more people than a rep can talk to, so it never abandons a call. Pause-and-preview mode lets a rep read a record before each dial. For high-touch selling, where how the first second sounds matters, that's a well-judged choice.
GrowOutly offers the same one-line power dialer and adds a parallel dialer for lists where most calls go unanswered. It rings up to three leads for a rep who is already on the line and connects whoever answers first. That means more conversations per hour on cold lists. The cost is the occasional moment where two people pick up and one is dropped, which is why GrowOutly caps it at three lines.
If your lists are warm and every conversation is valuable, PhoneBurner's single line is hard to fault. If your reps spend most of the hour listening to rings, parallel dialing is where the extra conversations come from.
Comparing the bills
PhoneBurner prices per user, from $140 to $183 a month on annual billing, and every plan includes unlimited calling. That's its biggest practical advantage. A rep who dials six hours a day will never think about minutes.
GrowOutly prices per workspace. Pro is $319 a month for three users and includes 680 calling minutes, 500 texts, 1,000 emails, two numbers and the compliance checks. A small team that mixes calls with texts and email often comes out ahead. A team of full-time dialers will burn through 680 minutes, so look closely at the overage rate or move up to Essentials.
The bigger gap is in what each plan includes. At PhoneBurner, SMS, inbound calling, transcription and unlimited recording storage are all Premium features. At GrowOutly, two-way SMS, recording, transcripts and inbound routing are on every plan.
Lists, texting and compliance
PhoneBurner assumes you bring your own leads. GrowOutly includes Google Maps lead scraping, which matters most to teams selling to local businesses such as roofers, dentists or restaurants, who otherwise buy lists.
On compliance, PhoneBurner connects to DNC.com, which screens the national registry and known TCPA litigators, and you supply the DNC.com key. GrowOutly runs national, state and litigator checks itself before every call and text, with no second account. PhoneBurner's ARMOR add-on is a genuine strength for caller reputation. It monitors your numbers, registers them with carriers and handles spam-label remediation for you.
If you're still choosing between dialer types in general, our guide to what a power dialer is covers the basics before you compare vendors.
